As colder weather settled in across much of the U.S. in the fourth quarter both the COVID-19 situation and economic performance predictably began to deteriorate. The daily rate of new COVID-19 cases is more than thrice the summer peak and consumers are paring travel and visits to restaurants. Local officials in Reno have maintained occupancy restrictions in the restaurant and retail sector, however as the pandemic has continued, retailers have found creative ways to keep their businesses afloat. While the retail sector still felt the reverberations of local restrictions, Q4 2020 posted its first quarter of positive net absorption since Q4 2019 ending the year at positive 21,526 sq. ft.
