Mercato Grove, a new wellness-focused residential experience with a thriving local food scene and retail destination, is on track to open this spring on six acres at the primary intersection of Kruse Way and Boones Ferry Road in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

The development team, led by High Street Residential, today confirmed that six new restaurants are set to open at Mercato Grove this spring: Fills Donuts, Grassa, Lardo, Oven and Shaker, St. Jack, and Tasty, all members of the ChefStable restaurant group. Mercato Grove will also offer 5,000 square feet of outdoor dining space.

“It is good to be talking about opening places rather than closing them. This past year has taken a massive toll on our industry and it is exciting to see the light at the end of the tunnel,” said Kurt Huffman, owner of ChefStable. “It feels almost symbolic that we’re opening as a community of chefs within the communities of Lake Oswego and Lake Grove and doing it with a shared vision of creating an indoor and outdoor dining experience that will be unique to Oregon. We have been in this battle all year together fighting for our industry so it means a lot to all of us that we reopen together.”

The six new restaurants will join a number of other businesses that have signed on at Mercato Grove, including Clean Juice, CVS, Max Nails Nail Salon, Orangetheory Fitness, and Ovation Coffee & Tea.

In addition to 49,000 square feet of destination retail, Mercato Grove features 206 thoughtfully designed apartments with ultra-high-end unit finishes and four separate ‘neighborhoods’ per floor. Residents at Mercato Grove will have access to an on-site parking garage and an impressive resident-only amenity collection, which includes a spa and sauna, a “swap-and-share” pantry, multiple lounges, adult crafting room and children’s playhouse, co-working space and private meeting rooms, an arcade and game room, a pet spa, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and an outdoor pool.

The residential and retail spaces at Mercato Grove are surrounded by outdoor features including a domestic duck habitat and two pieces of public art. The first piece, Balanced Butterflies, was created by award-winning artist Reven Marie Swanson is presented in partnership with the Arts Council of Lake Oswego. The second piece was commissioned by the team at Mercato Grove specifically for the project and features a 12-foot interactive duck sculpture created by Monstrum, a Danish workshop known for their playful designs.

“We believe in creating a place, an experience unlike anything else we’ve seen in the Portland metro area,” commented Damin Tarlow, lead project developer at High Street Residential. “From the exquisite design and amenities of the apartments, to the thought and care that went into choosing our sought-after retailers and restaurateurs, Mercato Grove is poised to be the new epicenter of Lake Oswego."

A New Farmers’ Market in Lake Grove

In addition to the news of restaurants, the City of Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation Department is announcing a new spring farmers’ market presented by Mercato Grove, which celebrates farmers and foodies alike, offering the finest foods and agricultural products in the Pacific Northwest.  This market is a pilot program that will launch on Sunday, March 7, and continue each Sunday through April 25 from 1 to 5 p.m.  It will be located on Hallmark Drive, adjacent to the Mercato Grove property, and blend local food culture with a mission to provide access to local sustainable and equitable foods. Guests can expect a variety of fresh produce, meats, artisan baked goods, handcrafted products, and a rotating ChefStable food offering.
